Spanish Life of the Chairman of the Moscow City Duma — Investigation by the Anti-Corruption Foundation

September 06, 2023

The daughter of Alexey Shaposhnikov owns a large apartment in the center of Barcelona. She purchased a 200-square-meter apartment for a million euros just hours before the Russian army invaded Ukraine, according to a new investigation by the Anti-Corruption Foundation.

Alexei Shaposhnikov is a turbo supporter of the war. In the Moscow City Duma, he has organized a special headquarters that collects supplies and sends them to the front lines. Neither Shaposhnikov nor his family members have so far been subject to international sanctions, and they can freely enjoy life and leisure in Western countries.

On the eve of the full-scale war in Ukraine, his daughter Dana Shaposhnikova became the owner of an apartment located just eight minutes away from the central square of Barcelona. The 22-year-old woman teaches Russian to foreigners at a rate of 20 euros per hour and, of course, could not have afforded such an apartment without her father's assistance.

She has lived in Spain since 2014, initially studying in high school and then at a university. In the summer of 2023, Dana vacationed in the resort town of Amalfi in southwestern Italy, along with her mother, Adelya Rustam-Zade.

We demand that the Spanish authorities impose sanctions on Shaposhnikov and his family. Such people should not live in Europe and enjoy a Western lifestyle.
